Craziest Weather Week Ever!

This week was insane weather-wise...Sunday Brayden and I were at the park with Kaylee for two hours in 70 degrees and sunny, Ryan had practice and by Tuesday we woke up to solid ice covering everything. Two days off of work, school cancelled, the city basically shut down and then Friday we again wake up and find everything covered in almost 5 inches of SNOW! It has been amazing. I prefer the snow, since it is so pretty and is so much fun to play in. Ryan and I were talking about how lucky Brayden is - he has seen snow every winter of his life so far. We didn't get that as kids. (At least, don't remember it). Here are some photos from yesterday playing in the snow:

Had to take this...so funny of Ryan actually doing a snow angel!

Making snow ice cream! Mix a little milk, sugar, vanilla with fresh snow... voila! Ice cream! YUMMY.

Dallas Child - February

Brayden's 3rd Birthday Party is highlighted in Dallas Child magazine this month. It is a really cute write up - I can't figure out how to get it to post into the blog so I will attach a link to their website to see the online version of the article. Check it out:

Children's Aquarium

We made the trip down to Fair Park today to check out the Children's Aquarium that just recently opened after finishing renovations. It was great! They remodeled all of the inside, updating their aquarium areas and adding some cool fish and ocean creatures. They had a lot of interactive features as well. They also have an outdoor area that they call Stingray Bay where you can actually pet baby stingrays and a huge tank with various species of sharks and huge sting rays for you to look at. That part was fantastic - Brayden thought so too.

The Dallas World Aquarium is very cool downtown but it's expensive and so large that it's a bit overwhelming for little children so I think this aquarium is perfect. They have just enough cool things to see and the admission price is much less - which is great. Ryan got to go too, which made it even better. Nanny came too! So we had a great Saturday morning. Here are some pics:

Albino crocodiles
Huge sea tortoise

Sharks!
They had zebra sharks and bonehead sharks

Love his face here!
He was trying to read the panel :) Very into it.

Red king crab

Sea turtle - there was a fish that was riding on his belly

Had to get a photo to prove I was there :)

Happy Birthday Ryan!

It was Ryan's birthday today! The weekend didn't turn out as planned for the celebration as Brayden got sick on Saturday with a stomach bug and we spent most of the weekend home taking care of him. No fun, poor little guy. We were able to have his parents and my dad (Jackie was not feeling well either) come over for dinner and cake tonight. Happy Birthday to my sweet Ryan...we love him so!

I was able to make him his favorite for breakfast... cinnamon pull aparts... yummy!
Nanny's chocolate cake.. his grandmother's recipe...another one of his favorites..

Just because...

I love this sweet face :)

Playing with Daddy

Yesterday was the first (maybe only) snow in Dallas. It was quite beautiful but did not last long and didn't accumulate much on the ground. It was cold though! So we stayed in most of the day and decided to light a fire in the fireplace in the evening. Brayden has started getting interested in playing with the soccer ball with Daddy and also throwing the football, so they were playing in front of the fireplace last night so I grabbed my camera and took a few shots.. my favorite time is to watch these two together, my sweet boys :)
