Breakfast with Santa 2009

This morning was the annual Breakfast with Santa at the Wagner's house. It is always a fun time. Brayden was still quite weary of Santa - this year wouldn't even attempt sitting on his lap. Kept saying "Go home, Go home" when we would even approach him, so we didn't force it - and just let it go. He has plenty of years to warm up to him if he chooses too :) He enjoyed playing with the kids that were there, especially his cousins, Cooper and Charlee. Here are some pics from the morning:

An attempt at a cousin's picture. :) Quite difficult to do!

Ryan with B and Charlee (Brayden loved that they had sprinkled donut holes)

Proof Santa was indeed there - Grady was a bit shy too.

Group of dads that all played soccer together back in the day

The highlight of the morning was going outside to see Cousin Cooper's Lightning McQueen car. You can see from Brayden's face - he is very excited! He kept saying "Ka-chow, Ka-chow"

This is Brayden's favorite character! And he got to sit in him! What a dream!!!! His feet didn't reach the pedals so he couldn't drive it (thank goodness) but he sure felt cool sitting in it.

Very sweet ride. Cooper was very patient to share with so many other kids.

Grady liked it too.

Back to the rightful owner. Cooper drives is remarkably well for a 3 year old. I was very impressed! :) Mad skills that kid. Notice dad's foot stopping him for the moment. Hopefully by the time Brayden is old enough he will be onto another phase and won't want one of his own.

'Tis the Season

This week we started getting in the mood for Christmas by decorating around the house. We got our tree, put a little tree in Brayden's room, open advent calendar every morning, etc. When I was at the grocery store I got a gingerbread house and thought it would be fun to decorate with Brayden. He had fun, but I think more fun eating all of the candy rather than decorating. Mommy, on the other hand, loved the design project :) Daddy helped too (eat candy, that is :) Just kidding.

What a great start to the holiday season! Merry Christmas!

Fall Leaves

Ryan raked up leaves in the yard last week and it was nice outside so Brayden and I went out and watched and helped. Brayden was quite the helper - he had fun helping his daddy. He just loves being outside... he would stay out there all day if we let him.

He's probably saying here "Brayden do it." That is his favorite statement right now. Quite the independent one!

Halloween - Pumpkin Patch

This year's Halloween was pretty low key. Ryan was out of town coaching. I came down with H1N1 flu (aka Swine Flu) the Monday before Halloween so I was pretty out of commission all week. I had been busy the week before getting ready for Brayden's birthday party and had not gotten him a costume yet. When I got sick I decided to just skip dressing him up this year and we will go all out next year! I managed to make him a pumpkin shirt and was feeling strong enough to go to a pumpkin patch Halloween night. Here are some pics below: Enjoy!

Happy 2nd Birthday Brayden!

Birthday Boy!

We rented a bouncehouse for the frontyard. It had Cars on the front of it... he was a bit shy to go in at first. As you can see Ryan is inside trying to coax Brayden in...

He is still trying to decide...do I go in or not????

He made it in!!!! Yahoo BIG BOY!

State Fair of Texas!

We went to the Fair today! We had a great time - the weather was surprisingly chilly and we went early enough that it was not crowded at all. We enjoyed good fair food and looked at all of the fun things the fair has to offer. Brayden had a blast this year too - its amazing what a year can do. He was so much more observant and just soaked everything up. It's great to start traditions that we can share together. Enjoy the photos below of our day!

First stop: The Automobile Buildings. We found a great booth selling miniature cars so Brayden picked out two and was quite happy the rest of the day. He got two different kinds of firetrucks. "Firecars" as he calls them.

Looking at Big Tex

BIG TEX!

Corn Dog! Yummy!

The Midway. We weren't quite ready for rides this year - next year for sure!

Strolling along on the way to the petting zoo.

He liked Nanny's funnel cake.

Playing with mommy by the water.

Brayden and Nanny

He enjoyed walking along this wall.

Nutty bar! Ryan wanted me to note that he didn't eat any of this because it is not part of his P90x diet. :)

Playing with Daddy.

Choo-choos! He loved seeing the big train engines. He kept saying "All Aboard!" (He watches a show at Nanny and Papa's where a conductor always says this - so cute!)

You can see how excited he was by the trains! :)

See ya next year State Fair!
