Finally Caught Up!

Wow! I have not posted since April! That is terrible! I think I have gotten in a bad habit of just updating photos on facebook or texting photos to family -- and the fact that now that I have an iPhone I rarely use my camera which I need to get back in the habit of using. Really, we have also been extremely busy with life in general. Ryan has been in the swing of summer soccer and in and out of town and I have been busy working and taking care of our sweet little boy. In any case, FINALLY I have caught up to present day I think. Although I need to post photos from the trip Ryan and I just took to Denver last weekend. Yes, we got to take a trip together, just the two of us and it was fantastic! I will post soon. xoxo

Father's Day

We had to celebrate Father's Day with Ryan early this year because he left for Regionals on the Wednesday before. This year I took some photos of Brayden holding signs that said "I heart Daddy" and then framed them. It turned out super cute. The photos I took are below. The actual photos I framed are black and white but you get the idea. We missed him on Father's Day but it doesn't take away the fact that he is such a great dad and Brayden adores him and loves his daddy more than anything. It warms my heart every day to see them together and see Brayden's face light up every time he sees Ryan. They call each other "best friends". Love it. Since Ryan was out of town on Father's Day - it did allow me to spend the day with my daddy which was great. We went to brunch and then went over to Dad and Jackie's house and spend the whole day just relaxing and spending time together. Those days are rare but I still really enjoy them. I feel so blessed to have such a special and wonderful Dad.

Weekend at Lake

Mid-June we went to the McBee Lakehouse and had a great time. It is always such a wonderful relaxing time - it was lots of sun and water time and fun with friends. This time Brayden really loved playing in the lake -- and I got some good photos of him and Daddy playing together. Going there we always makes such great memories.

End of School Year Program

Brayden's school had an end of school year program at the first of June. Its always interesting to go because you never know how Brayden will do - he practiced his songs around the house for weeks - and then it gets to show time and he just clams up. I guess its a 3 year old thing - I don't really blame him - there are a lot of people watching him. He still looks adorable :) Maybe next year he will warm up and sing and smile. I was still proud of him. Ryan was able to come but due to an undisclosed kindergarten graduation that ran way over - he didn't get to stay - but he also loved watching Brayden too.

Memorial Day Parade

This Memorial Day Ryan was in New York for a tournament. Brayden and I spent the majority of the weekend in Denison with my mom and Dave and had a great weekend but came back Sunday night to be able to go to our neighborhood parade. Dad and Jackie came over Monday morning to come with us. It is always such a great time. Brayden is getting so big - can now ride his tricycle to the parade. (this is killing me by the way -- he needs to stop growing!)

My Dad and Brayden

This is one of my favorite photos taken of my Dad and Brayden - had to share.

Mother's Day

I love Mother's Day because it reminds me how blessed I am to be a mother to a very special little guy. I love being a mom more than anything in this world and Brayden brings me such joy every day. Granted being a mom is a super tough job and has its daily challenges but I would not trade it for anything in the world. I was able to go to a Mother's Day brunch that his school hosted all of the moms in his class which was very fun. And then I loved spending the whole day with him on Mother's Day. We went to an art festival and it was a gorgeous day. We celebrated Mother's Day with my mom and Ryan earlier on Saturday...I was able to even get a photo of the three of us which is very rare :)

Easter

Easter! Easter was a good day. Ryan had to work during the day with a soccer tournament, so we had a bunny hop/scavenger hunt with him in the morning before he headed out. Brayden and I went to Denison to go to Easter service with my Mom and Dave.
