Holiday Pinterest Projects

I think I have mentioned on this blog here how much I LOVE pinterest. It is probably one of the most genius websites ever created. I can spend hours looking at that site and how found so many sources of inspiration it really is unbelievable. It is almost getting embarrassing when I take a dish somewhere or do some sort of project when people ask "Where did you find that idea?" "Where can I get that recipe?" My friends are so tired of hearing my answer as Pinterest. If you haven't discovered it, you are missing out. I have fed my family, kept myself busy, fueled my creativity, found outfit/fashion ideas, all because of Pinterest. But enough of that... here are some of the projects I did over the holidays I found on Pinterest....

PRINTABLE ADVENT CALENDAR IRON-ON DECALS. (I put them on muslin bags and hung them with laundry clips and a twine rope).

PHOTO ORNAMENTS (Photos transferred to mini canvases - using modge podge)

HANDPRINT SNOWMEN (found this thanks to my friend Courtney Edwards :)

PHOTO CANVASES (My walls are not this lime green - not a good photo! )

Christmas 2011

Was it just me or was Christmas a total whirlwind?!?! Before I knew it, it came and went. We had an amazing holiday, so fun with Brayden of course. He is very into Santa now and so its so exciting with all of the buildup and then him waking up Christmas morning. We did lots of fun activities before Christmas: his school program, making Gingerbread houses with Travis and Grady - an annual tradition, visit with Santa, Christmas Eve with family and then the actual day of Christmas. We were even more blessed this year when Ryan was offered a job before Christmas to be an assistant coach for the women's team at TCU - so that was super exciting and I am so happy for this new opportunity for Ryan. The Texans was a great job for him, and they did a lot for him and he was very successful there but I can't wait to see what the future holds for him. (and for us as a family). Here are a slew of pics from the Christmas holiday:

Santa left a note by the cookies we left for him!

Look at the loot that Santa brought Brayden! He asked for Rescue Heroes and my goodness Santa delivered :)

Thanksgiving Lunch at Brayden's School

Ryan and I went to Brayden's school before Thanksgiving to celebrate Thanksgiving dinner with him. They had a full lunch of Thanksgiving food and we got to enjoy some time with him. They had made cute placemats for all of the children in the class with photos of their family and then laminated them. It was a fun time.

Painting GNO

In November, the girls had a Girls Night Out at Caren's house - Caren had approached me a few months before and asked if I wanted to joint host it with her because she wanted to have a painting party similar to the Painting with a Twist places and other painting spots that are popping up around town where you go and can take your own wine and paint a painting in a night. They had just built a painting studio in an extra storage room in their garage and so she had the space. She asked if I would teach it. Of course, I was up for it. It was such a blast - we all had a great time. It was a definite highlight for me to teach all of my best friends about something I am so passionate about, art. Hope they enjoyed it as much as me :)
